Dyslexia Herts is committed to providing assessments to suit your individual needs. This may include:
An informal interview to find out more about your background, your strengths and the difficulties you may be experiencing
Reading analysis where you would be asked to read words and also read passages for meaning
Writing analysis which investigates structure, language, vocabulary, spelling, handwriting and typing skills, spelling and proof-reading.
Assessments of working memory, processing speed, hand-eye coordination, phonological awareness, verbal and visual reasoning.
An assessment will also include detailed individual recommendations for further support and strategies that may help you to overcome areas of difficulty.
A typical assessment could take between 2 and 4 hours contact time.
We understand that for adults or parents, having an assessment can be an important step to take and will be on hand throughout the process to answer any queries or concerns that you may have.
After your assessment we can arrange a time to provide feedback and explain anything to you that you are unsure of.
If you have arranged an assessment with us, it is really helpful for us to have as much background information as possible.
